Individual members of the public cannot bid on or purchase individual liens. STATUS as of verification (2026-07-16): Mayor Mamdani's administration announced a six-month pause of the lien sale program on 2026-04-24 pending a full review; the most recently completed sale was June 3, 2025. Separately, City Council Local Laws 56 and 62 of 2026 direct a future transition of this program to a public NYC Land Bank starting in 2029.
